Swift showed an interest in music from a young age and she progressed quickly from roles in theatre for children and her first public appearance in front of a crowd of thousands. Swift started writing songs when she was 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift was a singer who took ideas from Shania's music and that of her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of country music, composed the original songs she wrote to express her experience with alienation. Swift left Pennsylvania together with her parents, in Tennessee to Hendersonville when she turned 13 to devote more time to reaching out to country labels.
